Omak Stampede
This traditional festival is bound to wow you once again this summer
This Western event has been a staple of the area for decades, and once again the Omak Stampede promises to be an exciting attraction.
This four-day event, taking place August 9 - 12, 2012, welcomes back Rodeo Clown and Bullfighters, J.J. Harrison, Rowdy Barry and Tim Vredenburg to the arena. Announcer Steve Kenyon returns to keep you informed and entertained with his vast knowledge of all things rodeo. In addition, after each of the four performers, the Owner's & Jockey's Association will continue to run the World Famous Suicide Race.
The Omak Stampede would not be complete without vibrant Native American cultural exhibits. There will be authentic pow wows, traditional dancing and stickgame competitions and the Western & Native Art Show.
The kids will be thrilled to take part in the Wrangler Kids Night, the Grand Parade, kiddie parade and the Davis Shows Carnival.
Once again, the Friday night rodeo performance and items sold in The Company Store will support the Tough Enough To Wear Pink program, a campaign to raise awareness and funds for breast cancer research. Don't forget to wear something pink on Friday in honour of this cause, or pick up some of the Tough Enough merchandise that will be on sale at the stampede.
