A preferred choice for snowbirders
This balmy location puts a smile on the faces of all who visit
The Vagabundos Del Mar RV park, located in Cabo San Lucas, Baja California Sur, Mexico, has been around for many years. It is a wonderful park situated close to town (walking distance), which snowbirds have flocked to as a winter destination for as long as this Vagabundos has been open: some all winter, others only for a few nights. In the beginning, the travel club Vagabundos Del Mar owned and operated the park, including the restaurant and pool. For some time now the park has been owned independently and about two years ago the restaurant was established as Vagabundos del Mar Trailer Park Restaurant under new management and operated by Peter Cashmore and Joe de la Borbolla.
Cashmore is a Canadian who has resided on Baja, Mexico, for many years. In previous years he owned and operated a security company in British Columbia, which he later sold. Borbolla is a Mexican who also resides on Baja and was one of the original players in the restaurant chain known as Carlos and Charlies. Both Cashmore and Borbolla resided previously at the RV park in San Jose del Cabo, Brisa Del Mar when it was closed suddenly and all residents evicted for redevelopment about five years ago—the renovation, so far, has not happened. Hence Cashmore and Borbolla moved to Vagabundos del Mar as permanent residents.
A booming business
Although the restaurant has always been in the park, it has never been the centre of attention like it is today. The managers have done an outstanding job creating a sports bar atmosphere with their high definition TVs and fabulous menu that includes "dinosaur soup," a taco platter to die for and Joe’s barbecued ribs cooked by Borbolla himself. Every dish served at this eatery is simply “muy ricco,” we can assure you. They now have patrons from around Los Cabos frequenting this establishment on a regular basis as the word gets out and the positive reviews build. Their success is based on the fact that they really care about the patrons, they have a great chef (five-star), the staff are very helpful and courteous and their prices are very reasonable—exceptionally reasonable, in fact. Be sure to check out their website at www.vagabundosrestaurant.com. You can find also find this as a link on our website. They are located at Kilometre 3 on the Carretera Transpeninsular (connecting highway between Cabo San Lucas and San Jose Del Cabo).
Imagine that, what more could an RVer ask for; great food at a reasonable price watching your favourite sport in the palms with warm tropic breezes in January. This is one of our favourite stops for sure when we are on or off tour.
