RVers love Kootenai Brown Pioneer Village
Camping in Pincher Creek means a side-trip to this fun-filled historical attraction
Pincher Creek is gaining popularity among Alberta campers, and it has a prime location just a short drive north of Waterton Lakes National Park.
If you’re visiting Pincher Creek this season, plan a day trip to Kootenai Brown Pioneer Village, located at 1037 Bev McLachlin Drive. Named after the founder of Waterton Park, this six-acre historical attraction boasts more than 18,000 artifacts and archives, as well as 23 heritage buildings, all open for visitors to tour.
The village hosts feature attractions throughout the year, such as its famous Canada Day celebration, summer day camp programs and historical presentations that focus on specific people and events from decades past.
When they finish exploring the museum exhibits, guests can peruse a gift shop full of hand-crafted items, souvenirs and books by local authors.
Kootenai Brown Pioneer Village is open year-round, with summer hours being 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. daily from the May long weekend until the end of August. Fall and winter hours run from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. Monday through Friday. Admission is $10 for adults, $5 for ages seven to 17 years, and guests under seven years old get in free.
