The campground features over 66 sites and three comfort camping domes. Guests enjoy numerous amenities and easy access to a walking trail network that follows Whitemud Creek to the North Saskatchewan River. Originally operated by the City of Edmonton beginning in 1963, the campground is part of Whitemud Park.

The Snow Valley Ski Club also manages the Snow Valley Aerial Park and ski facility under an agreement with the City of Edmonton. Whitemud Park is connected to Edmonton's River Valley system, an 88-kilometer continuous park stretching from Devon to Fort Saskatchewan.
