Las Vegas is known for being an entertainment hot spot, and there are several RV-friendly locations in the vicinity. Here are some of the top things to see and do during your Vegas holiday.

1) Tour the city

What better way to begin your Vegas adventure than by touring the Strip and the city's surrounding area? You can find nightlife, sightseeing, hummer and helicopter tours—the sky is the limit, literally.

2) Get aquarium acquainted

The 117,000-gallon Aquarium at the Silverton is a unique feature that participants of all ages can appreciate. Underwater mermaid shows are put on regularly by performers with backgrounds in synchronized and competitive swimming. Watch the divers feed the stingrays twice daily, and hear fascinating information about the aquarium's 4,000-plus residents. While you're there, stop for a bite to eat at the Mermaid Cafe and check out the nearby art gallery.

3) Have a day at the park

The Adventuredome Theme Park is a family-oriented attraction with rides designed for every age group. Play classic midway games, try rock climbing and indoor bungee jumping, putt around the miniature golf course or play at the arcade—you will be kept busy the entire time.

4) Down to the Valley of Fire

Valley of Fire State Park is a bit of a drive from Vegas (55 miles northeast), but it's a journey you will be glad you made. You can camp here and spend the day hiking, checking out the interpretive displays and observing petrified wood and petroglyphs that are thousands of years old.

5) Rock and roll

Red Rock Canyon is located about 17 miles west of Vegas, and it's well worth the drive. Come here to take part in guided hikes and programs, or set off on your own to explore the terrain on foot or on bike. There are also camping spots here, and profound rock climbing areas.
