"Stopped on the side of the road, almost sunset, leaving the park. This was one sunset on a 9,600-kilometre road trip."

My husband and I were visiting the Nelson/Balfour area for the first time in our 1970-something Boler travel trailer. On arrival at the campsite, we were assigned a lakefront spot and when we parked, we were the only people there; however, as we set up camp, neighbours arrived to the left and to the right of us. Once we had set up camp, we decided to take a drive to Balfour and as we were pulling out of our campsite, I looked back at our trailer and this picture is what I saw. The difference in size between us and our neighbors really tickled our funny bones. We've now graduated to a 28' fifth wheel but we still talk about our little Boler, how much fun we had in it and how simple life was back then.

A wonderful place to explore

"Grand Forks is a great place to camp and explore. The Municipal Campground is a central and very popular RV site adjacent to the Kettle River. There are many other spots to camp also. On June 24, 2017 Gallery 2 is hosting their Garden Tour. What a wonderful way to spend a weekend, camping and having the opportunity to peek into some of the private sanctuaries of local green thumbs and gardening afficienados. Call 250-442-5835 for more info about this event and others throughout the summer."
