Solstice Motorcoach Resort & Country Club is opening its first phase this December, and everyone involved with the project is ecstatic about the upcoming plans for the future. The resort will provide access to premium spas, golf courses, gaming and entertainment—as well as accommodation for Class A and C motorcoaches and some fifth wheels. There will also be an on-site fitness facility, WiFi, a pet park and much more. Marketing director JaNay Nichols was kind enough to give us some insight into the exciting developments and the people behind them.

When did you first become involved with the company?

I have been involved with the development company since 2004. We first began planning for the Solstice Motorcoach Resort in 2006. My official title is marketing director, but I am also the liaison between the owner and on-site resort manager.

What obstacles have you faced, and how did you overcome them?

Finding the right team who works hard and works well together, while still maintaining a fun atmosphere, is always important. I’ve found it’s best to work on finding people’s strengths—that maybe they didn’t even know they had—and utilizing them to their full ability even if it was not specifically part of their job description.

What has been your proudest moment throughout this project?

Our first advertisements—once we determined the name, Solstice Motorcoach Resort—received a much higher response than we even anticipated. We had over 1,000 people on our interest list in a matter of just a few months. Even more rewarding were the comments from RVers telling us how impressed they were with the vision and how excited they were to see more. Now we are excited to see the resort opening.

Why is Mesquite the perfect location for a resort?

Mesquite is a quiet oasis with beautiful surroundings. Yet, it is easy to access, being just off I-15, and has so many things to do within the city and nearby. With seven golf courses and full-service casinos, luxury spas and dining in the city, there is great entertainment similar to Las Vegas without the congestion of going to Las Vegas—which is about 80 miles south. Mesquite is also close enough to take a day trip to many natural wonders, including Lake Mead, Zion National Park, Bryce Canyon, the Grand Canyon and more.

What makes your company special?

The company has participated in planning and developing a wide variety of projects—from commercial to residential to resorts. Experience in a variety of areas has brought a unique vision and style to each of our projects. Each development we have completed is unique and strives to stand out among the competition by paying attention to the small details which make the overall experience for our clients memorable.

Is there anything else you would like to add?

Solstice Motorcoach Resort is completing its first phase that will include 175 lots, but it will eventually be over 300 lots with an expanded list of amenities. The Motorcoach Resort is built in three tiers, providing great views of the Virgin Mountains and Mesquite Mesa, a variety of landscape features and a unique feature for each lot. Solstice will provide a relaxed, inviting environment with the opportunity to become a lot owner and part of a close-knit community as a member of the country club.
