RV Meanderings

A piece of history

More highlights awaited in these historically rich areas

by

After driving across what seemed like endless expanses of open prairie and some badlands areas, our travels have now taken us eastward to the town of Dickinson, North Dakota. We stopped at the Patterson Lake Recreation area which provided power and water for a very reasonable price.

After a couple days of rest in the heat, we drove to Deadwood South Dakota. This small town is a national historic landmark and boasts many stories of gunslingers and gamblers. The old buildings alone are worth taking in. We arrived on Thursday just when a car show called Kool Nites was starting. We have never seen so many beautifully restored vehicles. People had travelled from all across the US and Canada to be there. The music and atmosphere added to our enjoyment. We even met some folks from Alberta showing off their cars.
