Escape Trailer Industries Ltd. is a popular manufacturing company in Chilliwack, B.C. Customers flock from all across the continent to purchase their quality moulded fibreglass trailers with extensive features and customizable options. Since all trailers are pre-sold, the customer has the added bonus of choosing only the features they want to purchase.

"Our customers also enjoy the knowledge that we listen to the feedback," said Tammy Harmatiuk, who shares ownership of the business with her husband, Reace. "If a change is required that will make a difference in their camping experience, we will analyze their request and sometimes it becomes standard."

Harmatiuk is particularly proud of the 19' Escape model, which was specially designed based on input received from consumers.

"We polled several different fibreglass trailer forums asking consumers what the ideal fibreglass trailer would have," she said. "We used the feedback to create the floor plan and come up with the standard features list."

The business has made some great headway, and just last March the Escape team moved into a larger facility, allowing them to bring all their employees together under one roof. The new site boasts highway access, and plenty of room for future expansions. There are already plans for the immediate future—a new fifth-wheel model is in the works, and Harmatiuk hopes to see it released in 2013.

Demand for this type of trailer has increased in recent years, as it brings several benefits to the RV traveller.

"The strong selling points for our trailers is that they are constructed from molded fiberglass," said Harmatiuk. "The two shells are actually fibreglassed together while still in the mould so there is no seam for water to penetrate. The other benefit . . . is the weight and longevity of the product. If you look around at older trailers still on the road many of the original 13’ moulded trailers are still going. We are always helping people find the accessories they need to update or rejuvenate their 1970 Boler or Trillium."
